Summary
Multiprovider End-to-end VPN Services
Virtual Private Network (VPN) services have been successfully deployed by service providers for many years within the network footprint of individual carriers, across all market segments and geographies. Several drivers now exist that have requirements that are beyond the scope of an individual carrier service. This necessitates interconnection and interoperation of these existing services amongst multiple operators. This BOF examines the scope of how interconnects are defined and implemented, how end-to-end VPN network services are defined and how such services are managed and deployed across multiple Autonomous Systems operated by same or different carriers, and whether there is cause and support for this work within the IETF. The scope of this WG would include L2 VPNs and L3 VPNs.
